Application for Programmes under Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/ Sectors (SSSDP) in 2022-2023

1.Applications for admission to the programmes under SSSDP below should be submitted through our Online Application System or E-APP:

  • Higher Diploma in Design (Fashion Design / Graphic Design / Interior Architecture)  (offered by CBCC)
  • Higher Diploma in Enrolled Nursing (General)  (offered by CIHE)
  • Higher Diploma in Health Care (Full-time Mode)  (offered by CBCC)
  • Higher Diploma in Hospitality Management  (offered by CBCC)
  • Higher Diploma in Pharmaceutical Dispensing (Full-time Mode)  (offered by CBCC)
  • Higher Diploma in Film and Media Production (Full-time Mode)  (offered by CBCC)

Online Application

Admission Interview

Applicants will be invited to attend an admission interview after submission of applications and are requested to bring the following when attending the interview*:

  • original and photocopy of Hong Kong Identity Card or Passport;
  • original and photocopy of relevant academic credentials;
  • originals and photocopies of school reports for the last three years;
  • certificates and results of HKDSEE/HKALE/HKCEE; and
  • application fee [see item 4]

*Applicants applying for programmes offered by the Department of Design must bring along 3 pieces of artwork when attending the admission interview.

Application Fee

HK$100 in cash for Higher Diploma, Associate Degree and Diploma programmes.
The application fee and tuition fee paid are neither refundable nor transferable.

The personal data provided on application forms are used by the College or other approved organisations only for purposes related to the processing of application, registration or mailing programme-related information only.

Points to Note

  • Any fees paid (e.g. application fees, tuition fees) are not refundable or transferable.
  • The College reserves the right to admit a student or not and to withdraw a programme if there were insufficient registration. In any cases, the College holds the final decision.

Programmes Offered

Remarks: The offer of the Programme is subject to the discretion of the College.

  • The Programme is currently under Learning Programme Re-accreditation (Re-LPA).
  • *Tuition Fee level subject to annual review.
  • +Local students admitted under the programme would be eligible for subsidy provided by the government under the Study Subsidy Scheme for Designated Professions/Sectors (SSSDP) subject to the approval of Education Bureau.

    1. The 2021-22 HKDSE graduates who do not have 6 months working experience in property management can still apply for the Programme with the “Earn As You Learn” programme in collaboration with Hong Yip Service Company Limited (Hong Yip). Applicants who successfully pass the programme admission interview will be given a conditional offer and referred to Hong Yip for the job interview. Applicants who are successfully hired by Hong Yip can claim the conditional offer for the Programme after the completion of 6 months or above working experience in Hong Yip.
    2. Three intakes per year (January, May, September)
    3. The medium of instruction of the Programme is Cantonese supplemented by English.

Admission Requirements

Sub-Degree Programmes

Year 1 Entry

  • Have obtained Level 2 in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKDSE Examination***; OR
  • Have graduated from the Yi Jin Diploma; OR
  • Have obtained Grade E or above in one AL / two ASL subjects in the HKALE plus five passes in the HKCEE including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  • Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the Institute/College; OR
  • Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  • Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Year 1 Entry

  • Have obtained Level 2 in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKDSE Examination***; OR
  • Have graduated from the Yi Jin Diploma; OR
  • Have obtained Grade E or above in one AL/two ASL subjects in the HKALE plus five passes in the HKCEE including Chinese Language and English Language; OR
  • Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the College; OR
  • Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background (a mature applicant should have completed Secondary 5 schooling and passed the relevant entrance test(s)); OR
  • Have obtained an equivalent qualification.
    AND
    Applicants should have attained Grade 6 in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Practical Examination, or equivalent level awarded by similar organizations, or approval after audition. A satisfactory result in HKDSE Music will be highly considered.

Year 1 Entry

  • Have obtained Level 2 or above in five subjects, including Chinese Language and English Language, and preferably also in Mathematics, Liberal Studies and one science related subject in the HKDSE Examination***; OR
  • Have obtained Grade E or above in one AL / two ASL subjects in the HKALE plus five passes in the HKCEE including Chinese Language and English Language, and preferably also in Mathematics and at least one science related subject; OR
  • Have completed a QF Level 3 programme that is approved by the College; OR
  • Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  • Have obtained an equivalent qualification.


Diploma and Professional Diploma Programmes

To be eligible for admission to the Programme, applicants must satisfy one of the following admission requirements:

  • Having completed Secondary Five under HKCEE or Secondary Six under HKDSEE in Hong Kong with at least a Pass or Level 2 in Chinese Language respectively; and currently work in the property management industry at least 6 months in “Assistant” job grade; OR
  • Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with 5 years relevant working experience in Property Management; OR
  • Have completed relevant training courses at QF Level 3; OR
  • Holding an equivalent qualification

Admission Interview

  • Having completed Secondary Five under HKCEE or Secondary Six under HKDSEE in Hong Kong with at least a Pass or Level 2 in Chinese Language respectively; and currently work in the property management industry at least 6 months in “Assistant” job grade; OR
  • Applicants must have passed the admission interview for successful application.
  • For applicants who cannot fulfill the Chinese language requirement as stated above, they are required to complete the Foundation of Chinese Communication course offered by the CBCC before the commencement of the Programme.
  • Have completed Secondary 6; OR
  • Have passed in five subjects (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKCEE; OR
  • Have graduated from the Project Yi Jin; OR
  • Have completed a QF Level 2 programme that is approved by the College; OR
  • Mature applicant aged 21 or above on 1 September of the year when admission is sought, with relevant working experience and academic background; OR
  • Have obtained an equivalent qualification.

Remarks***:

# 1. As specified in the letter of the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) dated 12 July 2017, the maximum number of non-standard admission (including mature aged students) for local degree programmes is capped at the maximum of 5% of the actual number of Year 1 new students of the year. The cap is applied in line with the general expectation on self-financed degree-awarding institutions in safeguarding teaching and learning quality and thereby upholding the creditability and recognition of the qualifications.

*** 2. Mathematics extended module (M1/M2) could be considered as an independent course.

*** 3. "Attained" and "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning (ApL) subjects are considered to be equivalent to Level 2 and Level 3 in DSE subjects respectively. A maximum of 2 ApL subjects are allowed to be taken into account.

4. For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students fulfilling the specified circumstances below, the Institute will accept Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade C in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or a score of 4 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to degree programmes; and Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade D in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or a score of 3 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to sub-degree programmes.

Remarks: For Non-Chinese Speaking (NCS) students fulfilling the specified circumstances below, the Institute will accept Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade C in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or "Attained" and "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning Chinese [ApL(C)] or a score of 4 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to degree programmes; and Grade E in GCE AL/AS Chinese or Grade D in GCE-OL/GCSE/IGCSE Chinese or "Attained" and "Attained with Distinction" in Applied Learning Chinese [ApL(C)] or a score of 3 in IB Chinese as meeting the Chinese Language requirement for admission to sub-degree programmes.

The specified circumstances are:

  • The student has learned Chinese Language for less than six years while receiving primary and secondary education.
  • The student has learned Chinese Language for six years or more in schools, but has been taught an adapted and simpler Chinese Language curriculum not normally applicable to the majority of students in our local schools.

29 August 2022 (Mon) Noon

Due date for application for refund of the enrolment deposit of $5,000 to HKDSE applicants who have accepted an offer from JUPAS for (a) a full-time UGC-funded bachelor’s degree programme or (b) a full-time bachelor’s degree programme subsidised under SSSDP in the JUPAS rechecking and remarking round offer. Full refund with administrative fee of $500.

31 August 2022 (Wed) Noon

Due date  application for refund of the enrollment deposit of $5,000 to HKDSE applicants who have accepted an offer from JUPAS for (a) a full-time UGC-funded undergraduate programme or (b) an undergraduate programme subsidised under SSSDP in the JUPAS clearing round offer.
