Hello! It is a pleasure to introduce you the Department of General Education and Language Studies.

Our department has dedicated to providing students with general education and language education; we also aim to cultivate students' humanistic spirit and language ability, leading to the holistic education development among our students. The general education courses in our school covers three major areas:Cultural Studies, Language and Communication, Individual and Society. Besides providing language courses including Chinese Language, English Language and Putonghua, our department also offers foreign language courses in Japanese, French and German.

The one-year program Diploma in General Studies (DGS) is offered to cater for the needs of HKDSE graduates (or with equivalent qualifications) who plan to further their education, and bridge these students to our College's Higher Diploma or Associate Degree programmes. In addition to offering diploma courses, our department also plays another important role: in coordinating general education and language courses for all Bachelor's Degree and Sub-degree students at the College.

In the near future, our department will offer a programme in music studies to provide an articulation path for students who are committed and ready to make contributions in the music career. Through the higher diploma programme, they become talents in the occupation. In the meantime, Sub-degree programmes in other disciplines are also being planned and will be offered accordingly in due course.
